Do I Need A Social Security Number To Switch?
Does Opex require a social security number to sign up for a long distance account?

Dear Michael,
You do if you sign up for a regular account that is billed monthly, but Opex offers prepaid long distance, and it is about the only long distance carrier I know of that doesn’t require a SSN. If you do sign up for their prepaid service, you also save an additional 8% off of their long distance rates. I used to have their prepaid service on one of my phones, and it was fine quality and I did save some money going that way.
